Why It Matters
SEO at scale means working with thousands of items. An ecommerce store with 5,000 products needs 5,000 title tags optimised. A multi-location business with 200 locations needs 200 pages audited. A content refresh project across 300 blog posts needs 300 metadata updates. Doing these one at a time — opening a page, editing the field, saving, moving to the next — is not feasible. At one minute per item, 5,000 items takes 83 hours.

Common Mistakes
Processing everything without sampling first. Running a bulk operation across 5,000 products without testing on 50 first risks deploying 5,000 bad outputs. Always process a sample, review the quality, adjust the parameters, and then run the full batch. The five minutes spent sampling saves hours of cleanup.
The other mistake is treating bulk processing as a one-time operation. Product catalogues change. New products are added, existing ones updated, old ones discontinued. Bulk processing should run as a recurring pipeline — processing new and changed items on a schedule — not as a one-off project that becomes outdated the day after it runs.
